Jessica joined the team in the summer of 2022! Growing up she always had a lot of animals and participated in 4-H so she could learn more about animals. Jessica is full of curiosity and constantly asking questions to learn more; she enjoys taking that knowledge and applying it to the patients in the office.
Jessica started the Penn Foster veterinary technician program in 2023. She became Fear Free certified in 2024 and hopes to be graduated and licensed by 2025. In the office Jessica enjoys radiography and watching cysts be drained.
Jessica is married with two cats. She loves being outside in nature, looking at birds, plants, or bugs.
Kelly joined the team in the summer of 2020 after graduating from the Columbus State Community College veterinary technician program. Kelly has a special love for animals and has always found comfort in them. “I believe it has helped me form great bonds with animals.”
Kelly is very respectful and aims to always communicate with empathy and respect. She really enjoys getting to know our clients and bonding with them over their pets.
Kelly lives with her husband and their two cats. Outside of the office, you can find her playing with her cats, fishing, reading, or playing video games.
Jessica joined the team in early 2020! She is eager to learn, is always asking questions and is a great addition to our staff. Jessica says love drives her to be the best she can be. She is always smiling or laughing and thinks you should treat pets and people the way you would like to be treated.
Growing up, Jessica said there was always a lack of knowledge about their pets. Since going to school and working at Himler Vet, she has gained a lot of knowledge about cats and dogs, and she loves educating clients, family and friends about their pets. Jessica feels that advocating for the patient and the owner is important. She also feels very strongly about prevention as it is generally cheaper than the treatment.
Jessica shares her home with two ferrets, two dogs and three cats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, laughing and playing video games.
Sam joined our team in 2017 shortly after graduating from OSU with a degree in Animal Science. After working in the practice for a couple of years she really wanted to do more with helping and caring for our patients and decided it was time to go back to school to become a veterinary technician. While in school she became Fear Free certified in 2020 and strives to make every patient’s visit as comfortable as possible. Sam graduated from Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician program in February of 2021 and because licensed that same year.
Growing up, Sam lived on a farm with lots of animals and didn’t always have the means to save all the stray animals she would find. Sam now has a life goal to save as many pets as she can. To this day Sam finds and brings in sick kittens to the office at least once a month. Sam values kindness in all things. She does her best to show kindness to every patient and owner. “You never know what a person is going through, and pets have bad days too.”
Sam lives in the country with her husband, 3 dogs, cats, and horses. In her free time, she enjoys reading and riding horses.
Whitney is our loyal, caring, and fun-loving Office Manager. Whitney started as a veterinary assistant part-time shortly after we opened in 2015. After a couple of years of filling in when needed she decided to take a full-time position in 2017. She was then promoted to our Office Manager in 2019 for her hard work and dedication to the practice, clients, and patients.
She has a strong background in customer service and really enjoys chatting and building relationships with our clients and patients. While she only had one cat growing up, she has always had a love for animals. Whitney enjoys educating people about their pets and seeing more urgent cases.
Whitney was born and raised in Marysville and is a Graduate of MHS. She lives in the country with her husband, two sons and their three huskies, Ashe, Ahri and Lulu. Whitney is an avid reader, loves to travel, and competitively races BMX bikes with her son.
Dr. Mindy Himler was born and raised in Marysville, OH and is a graduate of Marysville High School. She attended the University of Findlay for her undergraduate work where she majored in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
After graduating from Findlay, Dr. Himler attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2012. While in Vet School, Dr. Himler focused her interests on horses and small animals. She was active in the student chapter of American Association of Equine Practitioners where she served as President during her third year. During her four years at Ohio State Dr. Himler also volunteered for three years at Animal Rescue of New Orleans (ARNO) during winter break where she adopted two of her cats (Gus and Reba) who were displaced by Hurricane Gustav. She was also an active member of the Shelter Medicine and Surgery Clubs. Dr. Himler was a Bricker Equine Scholar her fourth year and was funded by the Morris Animal Foundation to research thyroid hormones in ill foals. She later published a paper in the Equine Vet Journal titled, “Presumptive Nonthyroidal Illness Syndrome in Critically Ill Foals.” She won the Gertrude Hoeger Biomedical Research Award for her research from the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduating, Dr. Himler completed a one-year internship at Arizona Equine Medical & Surgical Center outside of Phoenix. She then practiced in NE Ohio at an equine and small animal practice before deciding to return to her roots.
Dr. Himler started Himler Veterinary Services in 2015. Dr Himler has always been passionate about animal rescue and in 2017 joined the board of Logan Country Animal Haven, now known as Animal Haven. In 2020 she became Fear Free certified and certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture. In 2021 she joined the board of Nikki and Nigel’s Hospice rescue. She continues to bring compassionate and quality vet care to the town she grew up in and has always considered home.
Dr. Himler shares her home with several rescued cats, dogs, horses and has a love for Boston Terriers. In her free time Dr. Himler enjoys horseback riding, volunteering with Animal Haven and Nikki and Nigel’s Hospice rescue, hiking with her dogs and traveling.
